The Moorook Bowling Club has been an active social and sporting sector of the community since it’s opening on 25 January 1936.  Throughout the years the club has successfully hosted an unlimited number of pennant games for men and women along with multiple Riverland championships.  The interaction the sport offers is invaluable to the rural community and nearby districts offering a safe and family friendly environment for all to experience.

The club prides itself on the friendships gained through sharing skills and knowledge to fellow members and newcomers to the sport.  Life Members and the yearly champions names are proudly displayed on the several Honour Boards mounted in the clubhouse.

Members pay tribute to the memory of a couple of long term bowlers, Kevin Marshall and Carl Towill with an annual Memorial Day.  In addition, other events conducted throughout the year have included Gala and Carnival Days, Anzac Day Memorial, Barefoot Bowls, Social games, Dinners, Bingo to name a few.  Most of these events continue to this day, the club will be exploring avenues to make the most of the facility to provide a variety of activities for members and visitors.

The clubhouse has also served as a private function venue with the location on the banks of the Murray River being the perfect locality for meetings and celebrations of choice.

As you share in conversation with members, you’ll gather a welcomed insight to the rich history of the club.  A great accomplishment to those who’ve dedicated their time volunteering to maintain their local bowling club.
